Always best to book early

The travel industry has been busy since the turn of the year, with January and February traditionally being the busiest months. This is when millions of savvy Brits take advantage of price reductions and added extras.

Based on figures from previous years, more than five million people book their holidays at this time of the year. Travel companies tend to launch their biggest sales, hoping to entice early bookers.

Early bird discounts, free child places, upgrades and other added extras offered in the early months of the year can mean you can save hundreds of pounds on your holidays.

What’s more, you can book many holidays with a low deposit, sometimes as low as £1. This gives you plenty of time to save to pay the balance.

But booking early isn’t just about getting a bargain. It also means you get a much wider choice of resort, flight time, holiday duration, departure airport and accommodation, so you don’t have to compromise.

This, of course, is especially important for families with children who are tied to the school holidays. It also matters to someone booking a trip for a special celebration, or for those who are restricted to when they can take their annual leave.

According to research, one in four Brits also choose to book their holidays early because it gives them something to look forward to.

There’s nothing better than daydreaming about feeling the sand between your toes, sinking on to your sunbed by the pool, or sampling the delicious local food. No wonder so many people book their holidays at this time when it’s cold and dark!

Here are my top tips for booking your holiday:

  • Check for ATOL protection, a UK financial protection scheme which protects most air package holidays sold by travel businesses licensed in the UK. All holidays booked through The Travel Network Group are ATOL protected.
  • Take out travel insurance as soon as you book. This way if there are any unexpected changes or cancellations before the trip, you’ll be covered.
  • Use your travel agent! I won’t charge you a fee and will spend my time trying to find you the best price possible. You don’t have to do the hard work. Your job is to enjoy the holiday!

Happy booking! If you’re looking for a holiday, please give me a ring or send me an email with your details and your dream holiday.
